“Elide” was the word of the day for Groundhog Day, my brother’s favorite holiday. While some forget the day is special, we mustn’t elide it, for it determines our warmth for the upcoming months. Southeastern Pennsylvania never elides the holiday. My research proved that Groundhog Lodges (Grundsow Lodges) celebrate the holiday with fersommlinge, social events in which food is served, speeches are made, and one or more g’spiel (plays or skits) are performed for entertainment.
excellent post, just excellent!
