fanfaronade.

\ fan-fair-uh-NAYD; -NOD \  , noun;
1.Swaggering; empty boasting; blustering manner or behavior; ostentatious display.
2.Fanfare.
There aren’t many things more frustrating than fanfaronade.  Folks guilty of it are often chain-blusterers, in my experience.  They rant and rave about people they know, ridiculous facts they know, and how awesome they are to be around (like Barnie on How I Met Your Mother, but in a real life annoying way).  Fanfaronaders cannot enjoy eating thin mint Girl Scout cookies with a friend because they butcher pleasant conversation with trivial facts and name dropping about Girl Scouts they once knew that were better at making these cookies back in the 80s.
