On my brief walk (hop, skip, and a jump really) from work to Starbucks, 90% of the time, there is a middle aged man with cool dreadlocks sitting on his favorite bench. The first time I walked by, he said “hello.” I said the same. I walked a few more yards and he yelled, “You’re adorable by the way!!”
This made me smile. It also embarrassed me, as there were many people sipping coffee nearby.
The next time I walked to Starbucks, I smiled and said hello to my dreadlocked friend. He gave me a thumbs up and said, “I love your skirt.”
The next time he complimented my sandals.
Then tonight as I made the walk, he hesitated a bit (as if trying to think of what to compliment and having a hard time because of my sloppy ensemble), and said, “Great jacket! Long live Israel!”
You are, of course. Adorable. Long live Israel!
